Missions
As a Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Vates, you will be the dedicated point of contact for our clients, focusing on ensuring their success with the Vates virtualization & management stack (Vates VMS). You’ll work directly with customers, providing technical guidance, proactive support, and strategic advice to help them fully leverage Vates solutions in their environments. This is a unique opportunity to support businesses transitioning from VMware and guide them through a robust open-source alternative.
- Develop a deep understanding of each client’s infrastructure, goals, and challenges to provide tailored technical guidance on using Vates VMS as a VMware replacement.
- Proactively identify potential issues and performance bottlenecks, delivering timely solutions and best practices to enhance customer experience and optimize their virtualization environments.
- Act as a liaison between clients and Vates’ development and support teams, ensuring client feedback is effectively communicated and integrated into future product improvements.
- Lead client onboarding and training sessions, helping customers navigate Vates VMS features and functionalities to maximize their investments.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts, fostering client satisfaction and loyalty while identifying new opportunities for expansion.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in a Technical Account Manager role or similar customer-facing technical position
- Solid knowledge of virtualization technologies, with experience using or supporting VMware products (experience at VMware is a plus)
- Familiarity with Vates VMS or other open-source virtualization and management solutions is a strong advantage
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and clients effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
